Running again!!!

On this wonderful spring day I took off for a 2 mile run [walking up the hills at the suggestion of the PT] and made the entire route with no heel pain. YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

The hour of stretching in the morning and the gel heels and the periodic stretching when I slowed to walk the hill must have done the trick. First time over 4 months I can say that. I am psyched!!!

Happy Easter to all! The rabbit is loading his eggs with treats for the annual hunt and getting ready to start the baked french toast for tomorrow breakfast.

Also near the end of the college selection.

Life is good

Hi Jeff,
What an "awake" and happy photo.
Welcome Spring! and Happy Easter to you and your family.
I have been absolutely scarce on the "Blog Scene" for a while, but I am going to try to get back into it.

I'm glad to hear that you are running again. It must feel really great. I am planning to start (slowly) again soon too. No more knee pain- yeah!
Well I'm actually in your neck of the woods again, and I went to that great Mexican restaurant that you recommended. I absolutely LOVE it there! I have been in the Adirondacks for the past week and living on fruit and yogurt so it was so nice to eat "real" food.
I will be here for most of the week. Can you recommend any cool hiking trails, or nature kinds of things to see? (if it's not any trouble)

Be well, and enjoy the warmer weather.

The trail up Monument mountain is a good hike. Depending on which route (left or right) it can take 90 minutes to a few hours. You pass the parking lot on the way to Great Barrington. (across from the high school) Sorry I don't remmeber which direction is which time. Also you can pick up the Appalacian trail in Tyringham, which is not far. And Steven's Glen in Richmond is a shorter hike. Do google searches on any of these and you can get directions.

OK Thanks,
I'll check those out.
I saw the parking lot across from the school and wondered about it... I think I'll start there.

My previous post was rushed before I started work. Here is a link to some other places that are good hiking. I didn't ask before which part of the county you were staying ( I assumed south county) but this link has spots in different areas.

Canoe Meadows is totally flat and around the river, Pleasant Valley we've gone to for years and it is a favorite. Ponds and beaver habitat and can hike to the fire tower for a good view. Both of these actually have links from my blog.
The cobble and bash bish falls also nice. Kayaking is always fun on the river but I haven't checked it out lately. You can rent kayaks at the Arcadian Shop on Rt 7 in Lenox.

Have fun an enjoy.

We are actually heading east to your neck of the woods for part of vacation.
